Systems Engineer - Visteon, Chelmsford, UK

Most of my time was spent working on the Systems Requirements Document for a Renault/Nisan project which involved weekly calls with the customers and the Software Development team. I was responsible for the following areas: Smartphone, Bluetooth and Antitheft. That means I had to go through the customer specification find potential problems and solutions for these problems consolidate issues raised by the development team and resolve these with the customers. Due to the great number of issues I often traveled to Paris on behalf of the company to resolve a greater number of these quickly which was often not possible on the phone.

Besides that I also created several Macros with TCL and VisualBasic to speed up procedures within the department. The most extensive of these was a PID database with customised inputs, pre-population and user authorisation written in VisualBasic.

During my time there I also had tutorials learning about the following areas:
CAN, HMI Design, Equalisation, Gauge Calibration, Customer Quotation

Throughout the year I was part of a DFMEA (Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis) group analysing on of the companies systems.
